Tunes: Always For You by Michael English

If you're like me, there are certain things that immediately invoke a memory for you. A certain smell that automatically reminds you of a grandparent that has passed away. A quote that reminds you of your favorite school teacher. A book character that reminds you of a friend who is like that character. There are lots of things that invoke memories in me.

I was just listening to Michael English sing "Always For You". I first heard this song when I was at Winthrop University. I had never really been much interested in contemporary Christian music until I got involved in BSU (Baptist Student Union) at Winthrop University. (Now they call it Baptist Collegiate Ministries or BCM.)  Anway, several friends introduced different artists to me and I fell in love with a lot of Christian music.

I only have to hear the first few chords in the intro music for this song and it reminds me of my second year at Winthrop. Isn't it weird how that happens?

Always For You
(sung by Michael English)
(Matt Huesmann/John May)
It's the early side of morning
Dawn is casting off its light
I haven't closed my eyes for hours
I've been awake in the still dark night.

I can't get you off my mind
No solutions can I find for you
Sometimes there's never a right word to say
But there's something that I can do

Chorus:
I'll be thinking, I'll be praying, always for you
I'll be hoping, I'll be loving, faithful and true
All through the day and all through the night
I will be there though far from your sight
I'll be thinking, I'll be praying
Always for you, always for you

Though miles of space are between us
Our hearts won't separate
I'm bound in constant prayer for you
Till your pain has been fully erased

Perhaps the logic's beyond us
Only God need know the reason why
But if you must cry out from a broken heart
Praise His name with each breath of life

A peace so calm, a love so strong
Always for you
Your pleading words God has heard
Always for you

Chorus
